Unity through Altruism – How Volunteering Your Time and Resources Brings Us Together and Fosters Equity

It seems that everywhere we look today, we see division and inequity.  The dehumanizing language directed at “others” that has become so commonplace on social media can tear our social fabric apart.  Through active altruism – volunteering your time and resources to better the lives of others – you have the opportunity to walk in someone else’s shoes and understand the “why” behind their ways.  By immersing ourselves in these experiences, we can begin to accept our differences and perhaps even celebrate them.

Megan MillerMegan Miller is the Executive Director of the Spencer Educational Foundation, a 41-year-old non-profit whose mission is to fund the education of tomorrow’s risk management and insurance leaders.  对这个行业并不陌生, Megan worked for 16 years in various technical and sales roles at large Property & 伤亡的公司.  Concurrent to this professional experience, 梅根一直是一个热心的筹款人, 前往巴布亚新几内亚, Cambodia, Tanzania, Malaysia, 去印度做志愿者.  She also spearheaded fundraising to build a community center in Zambia.  Megan’s current role at the helm of Spencer allows her to merge her understanding of the insurance industry with her passion for a worthy cause.
