招生 Requirements

The online master of science (M.S.) in computer science is open to eligible students in the U.S. (including the District of Columbia and all U.S. 领土). The program also is open to students in Canada (all provinces). 这个程序是 关闭 to students residing in countries other than the U.S. and Canada except for U.S. military and State 部门 personnel and their family members with APO/FPO addresses.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a baccalaureate degree in computer science or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. Those with a degree in a different area should contact the department for information on admission.
  • Have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 in all undergraduate course work or have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work; or have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in the applicant’s major field of study; or have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in all courses taken at the graduate level.
  • 研究生 Record Examination (GRE) test scores or scores from other standardized examinations are required although the applicant may, at his or her discretion, submit test scores for consideration.
  • All applicants who have a completed application will have a technical interview with a CS faculty member (over Skype, 团队, 或缩放). For admission, the following are minimum standards.

    - Ability to communicate clearly in English
    - Ability to do basic programming from scratch
    - Basic understanding of data structures and algorithms
    - Interest in continuing in CS

Important: The department welcomes applications from students who have previously specialized in related subject areas and who show promise of sustained and self-disciplined work in computer science. 学生 不 meeting all requirements for admission may be admitted conditionally and allowed to make up deficiencies.
